The Connaught development is a joint venture between the Jasper Municipal Council and the Affordable Housing Society of Alberta. It is a 32-unit affordable housing project meant to provide housing for individuals and families in need of affordable housing in Jasper National Park. The wildfire, however, did not significantly impact the timeline of the Connaught project.

The project aims to provide temporary housing solutions for displaced residents and to support the recovery of the community. The project is expected to be completed in 2024. The project is being spearheaded by the City of Jasper, the Province of Alberta, and the Government of Canada. The project is expected to cost $100 million.
