This study investigated the developmental toxicity of 2,6-dichloroquinoxaline (2,6-DCQ) and 2,5-dichloroquinoxaline (2,5-DCQ) to marine polychaete embryos. The researchers found that both compounds exhibited developmental toxicity, but the toxicity of 2,6-DCQ was significantly higher than that of 2,5-DCQ. 2,6-DCQ was found to be more persistent in the environment, leading to a higher risk of long-term exposure.

2,6-DCFR’s versatility and effectiveness make it a valuable asset in various industries. The team’s research has also highlighted the potential for 2,6-DCFR to be used as a biocide, which is a substance that kills or inhibits the growth of microorganisms.
